When I was in ROM I

I visited ROM on Mar 30,2010. It is my second time going there. And I really like the part of jewelleries.

Some of them are made of golds, and some are made of shells. But I was surprised that how they could be connected very well and what kinds of materials were used.

There were various jewelleries there, such as necklaces, rings, ear rings, hand chains and imperial crowns. They are so nice and amazing. I wanted to keep my eyes peeled and didn't want miss anything.

Field Trip in Bruces Mill

MicroSkills LINC orgnized a field trip on Mar 25, 2010. We were going to learn how the maple syrup is made.

There were almost one hundred people on the trip, including the LINC teachers, students, and some families. We were parted two groups. I didn't know who was the other group's leader, but Joseph was our team leader.

We started with a hike on a nature's trail.

Now, it's 11 a.m. Time for the guided tour!
At the end of trip, wagon riding was one thing which you couldn't miss.

When I got into the gift store, I was attracted by this wooden carving.

I am a volunteer in my son's school

I have been a volunteer in my son's school two times in this month.

The first time, I was a volunteer with my son's class to attend the trip about maple syrup in Forest Valley. He is in senior kindergarten now. At that day when I arrived at the school, his teacher gave me a note, which showed that this outdoor education program was to encourage a sense of wonder, curiosity, excitement and awareness of the natural environment.

The second time, I was working with my son's classmates to learn a scientific topic----honey bees. The first part was the life cycle of a bee. The second part was POLLINATION. The third part was to creat a paper bee by sticking the parts of the paper bee together. The forth part was to let the students smell and taste different kinds of honey.

Through these experiences, I feel happy in playing with kids, and the kids are so nice to the persons whom they like. I will continue be a volunteer in my son's school.

Spring is coming

It is March now, the weather is getting warmer, and the sunshine is coming back.

Some people feel depressed in winter because they can't go outiside to breathe the fresh air everyday, and see the sun. When the weather is coming better, their body and spirit is refreshed, and their "spring" is coming soon.

I like nice weather, and I hope I will enjoy it this year.

The end of Chinese New Year

Yesterday was the end of our Chinese New Year celebration, and this year is the year of the tiger.

We usually call this day which is Festival of Lanterns. In this day, we eat rice balls(we call them YUANXIAO) with our family.

A good begining brings success. At the begining of this year, I joined the LINC class and met some new friends. The class makes me feel good. I like this new environment. The new friends, my classmates, are so nice and friendly. We share the information to each other, which is useful to us.
